Untangling Cultural Knots
“Untangling Cultural Knots” Teamwork Session
A half-day, highly interactive workshop for mixed, multicultural teams and their managers. It surfaces and reframes the cultural assumptions that quietly create friction and mistrust — building shared language, practical tools, and simple agreements that make everyday collaboration easier.
What we cover (3.5–4 hours)
- Setting the frame: how culture, identity, and bias shape why diverse teams both outperform and clash — plus shared ground rules.
- Mapping our cultural lenses: use simple dimensions (directness, power distance, time) to explore differences without blame.
- Untangling real knots: rework your team’s actual scenarios with structured models and role-plays.
- Designing new norms: co-create 5–7 explicit team agreements and “if you’re not sure, do this” guidelines.
What you’ll walk away able to do
- Recognise how cultural lenses shape communication, feedback, and decisions
- Name your team’s specific “cultural knots” and replace them with shared norms
- Use everyday habits — check-ins, clarifying questions, inclusive meetings — to reduce friction
